School Visit Secrets from a Teacher and Author

Ready to visit schools and share your book with young readers? Shannon will share her secrets about keeping kids engaged, how to book visits, and of course, ideas for what you can talk about during your presentation. As a 25 year elementary teacher, Shannon knows what expectations schools have for convocations. As an author who has presented for over 100 visits, she has lots of do’s and don’ts to share too!

SHANNON ANDERSON has taught for 25 years, from first grade through college level. A highlight of her career was being named one of the 10 teachers who “awed and inspired” the Today Show in 2019. Shannon now writes and speaks full-time, with 15 traditionally published books so far. She was the former Regional Advisor for the Indiana SCBWI and now serves as the PAL Coordinator. Her very favorite part of being an author is doing author visits. You can learn more about her at
