IN SCBWI 2020 Mentor Program First Round

2020 Indiana SCBWI Mentor Program

We are thrilled to announce our first mentors for the 2020 IN SCBWI mentorship. For fiction or nonfiction picture books, Judith L. Roth has agreed to mentor the first round.

Judith L. Roth is the author of the picture books, including Goodnight, Dragon, Cups Held Out, Julia’s Words, middle grade book Serendipity & Me, and her article , My Corner of the World, Highlights, March 2019. She lives in Elkhart, Indiana with her family and three cats.

Judy writes,

“When I was about ten, it occurred to me that books are written by people and I was a person.  I could create my favorite things–I could write books!  I got a bachelor’s degree in English and music. I think my music education helps me write poetry. My first poem was accepted for publication before I graduated.  I had some success with poetry, but my biggest dream was to write fiction for children.  My first fiction piece was accepted about 25 years after the first submission.  Finally!”
